Afghanistan Mon Amour a été fondé en août 2021 par Brii Bauer alias Power (synthétiseur, thérémine, voix, cut up, loops électroniques) et Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt (guitare accidentelle, voix, cut up, loops électroniques). Afghanistan Mon Amour s’est fait connaitre par ses performances et enregistrements live où ils communiquent en direction d’un public qu’ils entendent élever spirituellement à la faveur d’une expérience quasi tribale.
Depuis la création d’Afghanistan Mon Amour, le duo a sorti plusieurs albums (Afghanistan Mon Amour, Licht am Ende des Tunnels) et a récemment collaboré avec la célèbre artiste Käthe Kruse (Die Tödliche Doris) qui a fourni poésie et voix à un album de découvertes sonores majestueuses en trois chapitres.

Afghanistan Mon Amour was founded in August 2021 by Brii Bauer aka Power (synthesizer, theremin, voice, cut up loops & electronics) and Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt (accidental guitar, voice, cut up loops, & electronics). Afhganistan Mon Amour is recognized for their live performances & recordings where they communicate in a language of a spiritual growth and connection. The audience is overwhelmed by many impressions at the same time and taken on a memorable journey. Video sequences, a flood of individual images and settings of which the eye cannot capture, create an involuntary visual order and do not stop flowing. The tribal pictures seem to be whipped forward by the music.
The sounds that they create take the audience in different realms of dimensions, which challenges the participants and go deep under their skin. Since the founding of AMA the project has released several live albums, two conceptual albums & a remix compilation album. Afghanistan Mon Amour has recently collaborated with the renowned artist Käthe Kruse (Die Tödliche Doris) who provided poetry & voice to an album release of majestic sonic discoveries in three chapters.

Il n’y a pas d’underground viennois sans Brii Bauer alias Power, activiste de longue date en Autriche. La musicienne, curatrice, DJ et ancienne journaliste musical a été co-fondatrice de nombreuses formations.  Brii Bauer a organisé divers événements dans toute l’Europe, notamment en tant que commissaire d’événements au Donaufestival Krems et elle a travaillé comme journaliste musicale pendant de nombreuses années et a collaboré à la publication “AUZine” centrée sur la scène underground viennoise.
En 2021, Power et Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt ont fondé Afghanistan Mon Amour un duo de musique expérimentale, pour lequel Power crée des tons sphériques sur son thérémine fait maison.

There is no Viennese underground without Brii Bauer aka Power, the busy long-term activist of the local subculture. The musician, curator, DJ and former music journalist has been a co-founder of and often the heart behind numerous band and DJ formations.
In August 2021 Power and Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt founded (Afghanistan Mon Amour) a avant-garde experimental music duo of visionary magnitude.

Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt est musicien, compositeur, producteur, mannequin et directeur de label. Il est bien connu pour son utilisation et son invention de la “méthode de guitare accidentelle” qui comprend trois aspects principaux : premièrement, la création de sons et de mondes sonores en combinant la guitare avec des effets de distorsion. Deuxièmement, l’improvisation – Cooper MArquardt rejette systématiquement les chorégraphies et toute forme de répétitions ou de planification. Enfin, la troisième dimension est la situation spécifique que le musicien rencontre en jouant : l’atmosphère et le cadre, les personnes, les conditions et les humeurs conduisent à une contextualisation de sa musique.
L’artiste a publié plus de 500 albums, collaborations et compilations et se produit dans des festivals à travers le monde.
Son duo avec Power se veut avant tout “magnétique et visionnaire”.

Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt is a musician, composer, producer, model, & label owner. The profilic self-thought artist is one that makes music through feelings and devotion. He is well known for his use and invention of the ‘accidental guitar method’. a holistic well-founded concept compromises three main aspects: First, the creation of sounds and worlds of sound by combining the guitat with disortion effects. Second, impprovisation – Cooper MArquardt systematically rejects given choreographies and all forms of rehearsals or planning (this applies not only to live performances, but also to recordings in his studio). Finally, the third dimension is the specific situation that the musician encounters while playing: the atmosphere and the setting, the people, conditions and moods in the respective room lead to a contextualization of his music.
The artist has published over 500 albums, collaborations and compilations and has performed in various avant-garde & experimental festivals in Europe & USA. In August 2021 Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt and Power founded (Afghanistan Mon Amour) a avant-garde experimental music duo of visionary magnitude.
