Rie Nakajima est une artiste japonaise née à Yokohama et vivant à Londres, elle crée des installations et des performances sonores. Ses œuvres sont le plus souvent composées en réponse directe à des espaces architecturaux singuliers. Elles combinent des dispositifs mobiles et des objets trouvés. Elle a exposé et présenté largement son travail au Royaume-Uni et à l’étranger. Depuis 2013, elle développe ‘Sculpture’ avec David Toop. Autre collaboration avec Keiko Yamamoto : le projet musical ‘O YAMA O’ qui explore une musique sans genre. Elle a également un projet collaboratif «Dead Plants/Living Objects» avec Pierre Berthet. D’autres collaborateurs réguliers sont David Cunningham, Miki Yui, Guy De Bièvre et Marie Roux. Elle a joué avec Angharad Davies, Clive Bell, Johan Vandermaelen, Lee Patterson, Shuichi Chino, Daichi Yoshikawa, Junko Wada, Lau Nau, Phill Niblock et beaucoup d’autres.
Rie Nakajima is a Japanese artist working with installations and performances that produce sound. Her works are most often composed in direct response to unique architectural spaces using a combination of kinetic devices and found objects. She has exhibited and performed widely both in the UK and overseas and has produced ‘Sculpture’ with David Toop since 2013. With Keiko Yamamoto she has a music project ‘O YAMA O’ which explores music with no genre. She also has a collaborative project ‘Dead Plants/Living Objects’ with Pierre Berthet. Other frequently collaborators are David Cunningham, Miki Yui, Guy De Bièvre and Marie Roux. She has performed with Angharad Davies, Clive Bell, Johan Vandermaelen, Lee Patterson, Shuichi Chino, Daichi Yoshikawa, Junko Wada, Lau Nau, Phill Niblock and many others. She is from Yokohama and currently based in London.
