Puis, dans When People Gather, nous expérimentons comment résonne le fait de faire partie d’un groupe, avant de pénétrer dans World Disorder une sorte de monde opposé, dystopique.
Nous terminons avec la première scène de son œuvre multimédia la plus récente, My city block.

The title of this presentation for webSYNradio is Tell-us. Here she presents a mixture of works from her production, and they all have to do with the questions about us, being, from different angles. It begins in the land of silence and the work Footprints of Mongolia. We follow someones footsteps through the land in to the Gobi desert. Then we continue into the Tittytainment world where we are surrounded by sounds that want something from us.After this, we experience the sound of being part of a group in When People Gather before we enter a kind of dystopia in a sort of opposite world in World Disorder. We end with the first scene of seven in the latest multimedia work, My city block.

ÉLÉMENTS

Ylva Bentancor est née à Stockholm en 1967. Elle a commencé sa carrière dans la musique contemporaine, formée à l’Académie de musique de Stockholm. Au fil des années, elle s’est davantage tournée vers l’art sonore, mais elle entretient toujours une relation forte avec différents instruments qui sont en corrélation avec les sons de la réalité. Son art sonore / musique a été créé et joué dans le monde entier, à la radio, dans des événements artistiques, des festivals, des concerts et des installations dans des galeries, etc.
Elle s’épanouit mieux lorsqu’elle peut combiner les sons avec la musique, l’objet visuel et la narration.

“ Il me semble plus ou moins impossible en tant qu’artiste sonore de ne pas utiliser mes expressions pour traiter de la société et de l’humanité, d’aller dans le sens mystérieux de nos intériorités pour essayer de comprendre ce qui s’y passe. J’écoute beaucoup la radio, elle m’inspire autant qu’elle me provoque, au quotidien. Cela me donne envie de continuer à poser des questions, de créer des pensées chez l’auditeur. Donc, le jour où le monde commencera à tourner comme une machine, où nous serons tous gentils et utiles les uns envers autres et qu’il n’y aura aucune menace pour nous, je ferai un morceau de musique / art sonore joyeux. J’espère et je redoute à la fois ce jour-là.”

Ylva Bentancor was born in Stockholm in 1967. She began her career in modern contemporary art music, educated at the Stockholm Academy of Music. Over the years, she developed more towards sound art, but she still maintains the relationship to different instruments that correlate with the sounds of reality. Her sound art / music has been made and played around the world, on radio, in art events, festivals, concerts and as installations in galleries etc.
She thrives best when she can combine sounds with music, the visual object and storytelling.

“It seems more or less impossible for me as a sound artist not to use my expressions to deal with society and humanity, to go into the mysterious senses of ourselves to try to understand what is happening there. I listen to the radio a lot, it inspires me as well as provokes me, daily. It makes me eager to keep asking questions, to create thoughts within the listener. So, the day when the world starts ticking like a machine, when we are all nice and helpful to each other and there is no threat over us, I will make a piece of happy music / sound art. I both long and fear that day.”
